The Treat Team

Meet our treat tasters

Kasey, Harley and Casper

These three perfect pooches were all with us from the beginning of this journey!

They inspired us to create a business built on love, care, and a commitment to all things natural!

The ones behind the business

Hi! We’re Ashleigh and Kane, the proud owners behind our small business The Highland Dog Deli also known as Fyne Four Paws. What started as a very small range of treats in June 2023 with just six types of natural dog treats has grown into a full shop — something we never imagined when we began this journey!

Our love for dogs (and our own pack of pooches!) inspired us to share the best, most natural treats we could find with other furry friends. We started out as a small pop-up stall, travelling to farmers markets and agricultural shows across the West Coast during the summer months, and November 2024 we opened our doors to our shop!

You can also find us at our new shop Fyne Four Paws, right on the Main Street in beautiful Inveraray. Though we’ve grown a little, we’re still a small business with the same heart and passion we started with! Bringing healthy, natural, tail-wagging happiness to dogs everywhere.

Ashleigh

The idea for The Highland Dog Deli came not long after moving to the beautiful town of Inveraray! Surrounded by stunning scenery, friendly faces, and plenty of dogs! Ashleigh quickly noticed that while Inveraray was full of happy pups, there wasn’t much here just for them. And so, the idea was born — to bring something special for all those wagging tails!

Ashleigh grew up in the small Lincolnshire village of Keelby, where her love for animals began. That passion led her to spend 9 years working as a sea lion and bird trainer at Pleasure Island in Cleethorpes and Blackpool Zoo. Starting from work experience and volunteering, she soon found her calling and went on to study Level 3 Animal Management at Bishop Burton College, followed by a year studying Animal Training and Behaviour before choosing to focus on building her career hands-on.

Back in her hometown, Ashleigh went on to run her own successful Dog Walking and Pet Care business, Happy Hound and Horse, caring for pets in Keelby and the surrounding villages for around three years.

Now settled in the Highlands, her lifelong love of animals and passion for natural, healthy living for dogs has come together through The Highland Dog Deli — where every treat is chosen with care, and every customer (human or furry!) is treated like family!

Kane

Kane grew up in the beautiful town of Inveraray, where he’s spent most of his life surrounded by family, friends, and plenty of dogs. Over the years, he’s worked in a few different retail roles, but his favourite job by far has been being part of The Highland Dog Deli journey.

Kane’s parents have a gorgeous dog named Kasey, who loves nothing more than being spoiled with treats — especially when they’re from our collection! Kane’s dream dog is a husky, but Ashleigh has her heart set on another golden retriever... so that’s a discussion for another day!

You’ll usually find Kane working in our shop or out at market stalls, always ready with a smile (and probably a treat or two) for our four-legged visitors!
